Seoul Impromptu Trip: Day 2

DAY 2

Our second day was a breeze, the tour started early. Our options were Everland, Lotte World or Nami Island, we decided to go to Everland instead. It was easier. We would only need to go to Gangnam Station, find the bus stop for Red Bus 5002, the express bus to Everland. It was cheaper as well, the bus fare was only KRW 2,100 or Php 84.00 per person per way and we used our transportation card for the subway. Travel time was approximately an hour from Gangnam Bus stop. Here's a more detailed guide on  how to go to Everland.

Snacks for the long bus ride

Upon arriving at Everland Compound, there's a shuttle that will bring everyone to the theme park gate (Tip: you may bring in water and snack inside). We were able to buy drinks at a nearby convenience store before heading to the shuttle.

Tourists were offered discounted entrance tickets at their counters. We just presented our passport to avail of the discount. Score! (Tip: discount coupons and holiday promotions are found on their website for additional discount) Their updated rates and promotions are found here.

We were at the theme park at around 10 am and people were starting to pile up. Queues were long on popular rides, so we headed to our target ride -- the Snowbuster. This was our last hope to experience the snow... but nooo! It's closed. According to the tourist information staff, the snow course was melting then and a bit too icy for sled rides. It was unfortunate but still we made the most out of our time there.

It was a chilly-midday in Everland! I couldn't remove my gloves to take pictures even for just a short while. (photo credit to my friend) This big gizmo I'm posing next to was our best friend! It kept us warm and cozy during our time here. They have this all over the place, so it's best to stand beside it from time to time as you go tour Everland on Winter time.

Heat me up baby =) My best friend against cold!

 Aesop's Village

We went for the cable car ride, toured around and saw all attractions they have to offer. We had our photo op at the Rose Garden. Hopped around Aesop's House & Fable Garden.

 Looking for the Gondola Lift?

 Found it!

 Getting tired & hungry

We wanted to try the Rolling X-Train but by the time we got there the queue was too long that we decided to eat lunch first.

We had lunch at the Han-ga-ram (Korean Cafeteria). They offer authentic Korean meals and at a very reasonable price. We helped ourselves out with an all you can eat side dishes like kimchi, black beans, and pickled veggies.

Finally! Lunch!

 Anyone for dessert?!

Jellybean lovers would drool over this site. A real-life Candyland! Looking at it gave me a toothache! All flavors I could possibly imagine were all here!

Around Everland

We were able to tour the grounds from 10 am to 3 pm. It was fairly new and the whole theme park was on Winter Mode. Snow was nowhere, but we were freezing, at 5ยบ C our hands started feeling numb! Love the cold weather, though, perfect for coffee and churros.

The hot coffee was really for my hand

Cool! Rotating Heater! My best friend #2

We departed Everland at exactly 3 pm, worried that the cold temp would be unbearable at night. Our next stop was Gangnam Underground shopping area. Nice!!!

It was a busy day at Gangnam Shopping Area and everything was on sale. Winter jackets were at a bargain of KRW 10,000 (Tip: if you're planning a Winter trip to Seoul, bring only 1 winter jacket and shop here at Gangnam for bargain winter clothes). Boots and shoes were of the same price. We were so busy shopping and looking around that I forgot to take photos of all the good deals and items we found! Korean-style bags, shoes, Korean dresses and tops, this was just heaven for shopping! =)

We had time for one more stop before heading back to our place (Tip: complete your DIY tours before 11 pm; the subway closes at midnight). We tried to look for the Hello Kitty Cafe in Hondae, but to our dismay we didn't find it. Addition to our unfortunate events. Luckily, though we're not a fan of, we found the Coffee Prince Cafe 1. This is the original store where they shot the scenes of the Korean Series: Coffee Prince. Plus the coffee was good!

Day 2 ended with a good cup of coffee and a whole hour of chitchat! It was a truly a nice way to cap off the day.
